Brincos de Ponto “Tijolo”/ Brick Stitch Earrings

Linha para entrelaçamentos ( tipo Fireline ou de nailon fina)
Beadweaving thread ( such as Fireline or thin nylon)
Micangas pequenas / 11° seed beads
Canutilhos em 2 cores contrastantes/ Bugle beads in contrasting colors
Agulha n° 12/ n° 12 beading needle
Acabamento tipo gancho para brinco/ earring hooks
Tesoura e alicate/ scissors and pliers

1) em 1.5m de linha passe a agulha. Começamos pela fundação do centro usando a técnica de “escada”. Pegue 2 canutilhos de cor no° 1 e leve até quase o fim da linha, deixando uns 10cm. Passe a agulha de baixo pra cima dentro do primeiro canutilho.

In 1.5m of line thread the needle. We’ll begin wit the foundation row made using ladder stitch. Pick up 2 bugle beads of color n°1 and pass it down the line, leaving approximately 10cm. Run e needle from the bottom up through the first bugle.

2) passe a agulha descendo pelo segundo canutilho. Agora temos as contas alinhadas de lado a lado, com a linha extra em baixo do primeiro canutilho e a linha com a agulha saindo por cima do segundo canutilho.

pass the needle down through the second bugle. Now we have the beads side by side with the extra thread coming out the bottom of the first bugle and the needled thread out the top side of the second bugle.

3) repetir passo um e dois com um canutilho cada vez: pegue um canutilho, passe a agulha de baixo para cima pelo canutilho anterior, desça dentro no canutilho apenas adicionado, aperte, repita até completar uma fila de 9 canutilhos.

Repeat steps one and two adding one bugle at a time: pick up one bugle, run the needle upwards into the previous bead then downwards into the just added bead, tighten your work, repeat until you have a row of 9 bugles.

4) agora vamos trabalhar com a técnica “tijolo”: pegue uma miçanga e leve até a base. Passe a agulhados baixo da linha que passa entre os primeiros dois canutilhos. Agora passe a agulha dentro da miçanga de baixo pra cima. Aperte bem, repita até o fim ( total de 8 miçangas).

Now we’ll be working with brick stitch: pick up a seed bead and let it drop to the bottom of the line. Run the needle underneath the thread that goes between the first two bugles. Now run the needle upwards through the seed bead, tighten your work and repeat until the end ( total of 8 seed beads).

5) Comece a segunda linha da mesma maneira, pegando uma miçanga, passando a agulha embaixo da linha entre as miçangas da primeira fila e depois de baixo pra cima dentro da miçanga. Preste atenção ao iniciar uma nova fila porque a primeira miçanga não é fixa, é importante apertar bem antes de juntar a nova. Continue assim, subindo, cada vez diminuindo uma miçanga até chegar as ultimas 2.

Start the second row in the same way, picking up one see bead, passing the needle under the thread of the beads in the first row then upwards into the seed bead. Be careful starting new rows because the bead beneath the one you’re adding will move easily so it’s important to tighten your work before and after adding the bead. Continue working your way up, decreasing a bead at every row until u end up with two.

6)pegue 2 canutilhos e passe a agulha de cima para baixo pela miçanga ao lado ( de onde saia a linha).Volte com a agulha de baixo pra cima dentro da outra miçanga e passe a agulha dentro de um canutilho depois no outro. Repita 3-4 vezes para reenforcar, aqui colocaremos o acabamento. ( fotografei já com acabamento porque foi uma tentativa mas nao saiu bem, muito solto.)

Pick up 2 bugle beads and run the needle downwards into the opposite bead from where your line was coming out. Go back through the first seed bead going upwards and run the needle through one bugle then the next. Repeat 3-4 times to reinforce, we’ll be adding the earlier here. ( I photographed the earring already with the earpiece as I was testing a different way to do this but it didn’t work, came out way too loose.)

7) Agora com cuidado passe a agulha dentro de todas as micangas na periferia do brinco até sair por baixo de um dos canutilhos ( ou o primeiro da fila ou o ultimo).

Now carefully pass your needle though every seed bead on the outside of the earring, working your way down to the bugle row, coming out of one of the bugles ( either the first or last one).

8) Pegue 2 micangas, um canutilho, 1 miçanga, 1 canutilho,1 micanga, um canutilho e 3 micangas ( 2m-1c, 1m-1c,1m-1c 3m) . Volte com a agulha pulando as ultimas 3 micangas, dentro das outras contas, suba dentro do mesmo canutilho onde começou e desça no próximo.

Pick up 2 seed beads, 1 bugle, 2 seeds, 1 bugle , 1 seed, 1 bugle and 3 seeds ( 2s-1b, 1s-1b, 1s-1b 3 s). Go back with your needle skipping the last 3 seed beads through the other beads, then upwards back into the bugle we came in from and down thought the next bugle.

9)Agora pegue 3 micangas e repita o passo acima aumentando uma miçanga e um canutilho antes das ultimas 3 micangas.

Now pick up 3 seed beads and repeat the step above adding one seed bead and one bugle before the last 3 seed beads.

10) continue assim, aumentando uma miçanga no inicio, apartar de agora nao precisa aumentar canutilhos, até o meio ( onde iniciara com 5 micangas). Complete essa fila, mas apartir daqui diminua as contas, é só repetir como no inicio, qualquer duvida confira com a foto em cima do post.

Continue the rows as before, adding a seed bead in the beginning, from here on out you don’t need to add any more bugles, until you get to the center ( where we’ll be starting with 5 seed beads). Complete this row and from here on decrease the beads, just repeat what you did in the beginning rows, if in doubt check the picture on the top of this post, it should charity any questions.

11) agora é só passar a agulha entre umas micangas acima da camada de canutilhos, dar alguns nos, repetir a mesma coisa com a linha que sobrou no começo do trabalho e acabou!

Now all we need to do is run the needle through a few seed beads above the bugle row, tie a few knots, repeat with the loose thread we left at the begging of the work and we’re done!
